Activities:
The Trust is working to create a housing community for wāhine whai ora to find wellbeing, te wāhi rangimārie, a safehaven for healing. It will provide social/affordable housing with access to care and support, to allow women the time, space and resources to recover and flourish. The housing community will be specifically designed by women for women, with safe, stable, secure housing for as long as they need it. Our cohort will include women coming out of residential care and counselling after exiting rough sleeping, homelessness or addiction rehabilitation programmes, and older women. We plan 15 homes first (completion 2027), with flexible configurations/sizes (space to reunite with children), communal/activity spaces for tenants, then 15 more homes (2028-29).
